Mandi Bahauddin Tops Gujranwala Region in Anti-Corruption Operations

Mandi Bahauddin district has secured the top position within the Gujranwala Region during the ongoing campaign against corrupt government employees.

The campaign is being carried out under the supervision of Deputy Director Anti-Corruption Mandi Bahauddin Chaudhry Ziaullah Sohi. In this regard, Circle Officer Anti-Corruption Mandi Bahauddin Mirza Imran-ul-Haq Baig spoke exclusively to Raja Muhammad Ayub, District Bureau Chief of Daily Sama (Lahore) for Mandi Bahauddin district.

Mirza Imran-ul-Haq Baig said that a rigorous crackdown and a series of raids against corrupt employees are underway across Punjab under the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

He said the campaign is being carried out under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Director General Anti-Corruption Punjab, also Additional Inspector General of Police, Sohail Zafar Chattha.

According to him, acting on the directives of the Director General Anti-Corruption Punjab, Lahore, and the Director Anti-Corruption Gujranwala Region, the Anti-Corruption Establishment Mandi Bahauddin demonstrated outstanding performance during September.

The department conducted several operations against government employees allegedly involved in corrupt practices across the district. These operations contributed to the Gujranwala Region securing the first position among regions across Punjab, while Mandi Bahauddin district achieved the top position within the Gujranwala Region.

According to the released statistics regarding operations conducted in different districts, the Anti-Corruption Department carried out 9 operations in Mandi Bahauddin district during September.

The available figures further show that 8 operations were conducted in Sialkot, 8 in Gujrat, 7 in Narowal, 3 in Hafizabad and 3 in Gujranwala, while 8 operations were carried out by the Gujranwala headquarters.

The performance reflects the ongoing efforts of the Anti-Corruption Establishment to take action against alleged corruption and strengthen accountability within government departments.

Mirza Imran-ul-Haq Baig said the department would continue taking action against corrupt elements in accordance with the law and directives of the competent authorities.

The achievement of the Mandi Bahauddin Anti-Corruption Establishment has also been appreciated as part of the broader campaign to improve transparency, accountability and public confidence in government institutions.
